As you know, the first round of schools returning to in-person learning includes Pre-Kinder, K-8, and high schools with cluster programs. NOTE: Mather HS does not have a cluster program and therefore IS NOT part of the first wave of school reopenings. At this time, there is no designated time frame for high schools like Mather to return to in-person learning.
During last week's LSC meeting, the Mather LSC voted to host a special meeting to discuss the CPS Reopening Plan and consider the pro's and con's of voting to draft a letter of resolution objecting to the current plan as communicated by CPS.
In order to gather feedback from students, parents, staff, and community members, you are encouraged to participate in our Community Forum and LSC Meeting to follow. The sequential events will take place this week, Thursday, January 21st.
- Community Forum, 1/21 at 445pm-530pm.
- Special LSC Meeting, 1/21 at 6pm
Links to each virtual meeting will be available on the MatherHS.org website by 4pm the day of the meetings.
This is a complex issue and the forum will present an opportunity to examine the reopening plan and hear from our school community. You can find more information at cps.edu/reopening. Additional materials from CPS are also linked below.
