Mather Students and Parents,
As we transition to a remote learning environment starting on Monday, April 13, we would like to provide students who are in need of a computer the opportunity to pick one up here. We are only encouraging those students who do not have a device to come due to the limited number of devices we have.
CPS, as well as Mather, would like to ensure that our students are best prepared to begin their remote learning. In order to best support our device distribution process, please read the information below.
Device distribution will take place at door 1 on Lincoln Ave. For those who will be driving please park along Lincoln Ave, follow the signs, you will line up on the sidewalk adhering to the 6 feet social distance and wrap around the building on the library side. A staff member will greet you and keep the line moving. Thank you in advance for your patience and flexibility.
- Mather device Distribution on Monday, April 20th (all grade levels)
- 1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.: Last Names A-F
- 1:55 p.m. - 2:40 p.m.: Last Names G-M
- 2:45 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.: Last Names N-Z
Students under 18 must have their parent or legal guardian pick up the device. We will need to verify the identity of the parents or legal guardians. A recent utility bill is sufficient in instances where a valid state-issued ID isn’t available. Students living in the same household should each be issued a device.
Upon pickup, Mather staff members will obtain parent and student signatures when possible and parents/students will complete the Mobile Device Use Agreement to ensure that device responsibilities are clear. Parents/students are responsible for caring for and preventing damage to checked out devices.

For parents who currently do not have access to the internet at home, consider utilizing these guidelines which provides information on how to access free or low cost internet options and instructions on how to set up their cell phone to use as a personal hotspot to connect to the Internet.

Los estudiantes menores de 18 años deben hacer que sus padres o tutores legales recojan el dispositivo. Tendremos que verificar la identidad de los padres o tutores legales. Una factura de servicios públicos reciente es suficiente en los casos en que no se encuentra disponible una identificación válida emitida por el estado. Los estudiantes que viven en el mismo hogar deben recibir un dispositivo.
Una vez recogido, los miembros del personal de Mather obtendrán firmas de padres y estudiantes cuando sea posible y los padres / estudiantes completarán el Acuerdo de uso de dispositivos móviles para garantizar que las responsabilidades del dispositivo sean claras. Los padres / estudiantes son responsables de cuidar y prevenir daños a los dispositivos retirados.
