Meet Dr. Tabbara
Dr. Omar Tabbara is honored to serve as the assistant principal at Mather. Prior to joining the Rangers, he served as a temporary assistant principal at Gale Community Academy and at Budlong Elementary School. He taught high school English for 15 years before becoming an assistant principal, and served as an evening administrator, English Department lead, and Student Government sponsor during that time. He has coached wrestling, cross country, track & field, and flag football over the course of his teaching career. Dr. Tabbara has a bachelor’s degree in the teaching of secondary English from UIC, and master’s and PhD degrees in educational leadership from Concordia University Chicago. In addition to his teaching and administrative certifications, he also has a superintendent’s endorsement, and is trained as an emergency medical technician. He is a product of Chicago Public Schools, attending CPS from K-12th grade. He is married and has one son who also attends CPS.
